Day 3 - Gold Buttercup
9ct Yellow Gold Buttercup Pendant on a fine 9ct yellow gold trace chain.

For day 3 of my ‘30 Days, 30 Flower Pendants’ challenge I looked to my social media followers for inspiration. One of the suggestions that I got was for a gold Buttercup flower necklace, I was instantly sold on the idea.
When I was at primary school it was always a treat when the weather was sunny and the teachers opened up the school field for us to play at lunchtime. Whilst many ran around playing football or other team sports me and my friends would pick Buttercup flowers and put them under each other’s chins to determine whether they “liked butter or not”. If the Buttercup reflected a yellow glow onto the underside of the persons chin then it was official “they liked butter”. To portray this game in my gold Buttercup pendant I made the inside of the flower highly polished and the back of the petals I gave a satin finish to really emphasise the reflective qualities of the front.
